Dr. Julian is the President and Founder of Indigo BioSystems, Inc, a technology spin-out of Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, USA. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University where he studied theoretical aspects of ion trap mass spectrometers using super computer simulations working with Professor R. Graham Cooks. After Purdue, Julian joined Lilly, where he developed systems for mixture analysis for natural products discovery, high throughput screening of RNA binders and biomarker discovery. He has been chairman of both the HUPO, and ASTM data standardization committees. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Purdue University. Since founding Indigo, he has been working with a inter-disciplinary team developing artificial intelligence systems for the clinical lab.
