Jean Armengaud
CEA

Jean Armengaud is best known for his work on proteogenomics of bacteria and archaea, as well as the characterization of radiotolerant organisms. He directs a research unit from the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) located near Avignon dedicated to analyzing the effects of metals, nanoparticles and radiations on biological models (toxicoproteomics) and tracking down pathogens and environmental-relevant bacteria. Previously, he spent six years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Microbiology, Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, Braunschweig, Germany and the Structural Biology Institute, Grenoble, France. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Grenoble, France.
