I am a senior fellow working at the Northwest Metabolomics Research Center. My current research focuses on novel cancer biomarkers discovery for both cancer diagnosis as well as cancer treatment response prediction. I am currently applying modern analytical technologies such as liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) for detecting and monitoring cancer induced-changes of ~ 200 metabolites (e.g., pyruvate, lactate, glycine, glutamine, etc.) in 25 metabolic pathways (e.g., glycolysis, TCA cycle, amino acid metabolism, glutaminolysis). And my research goal is to compare the metabolites of cancer patients with healthy controls and obtain some indicative information suggesting that certain biomarkers can be sensitive and specific for cancer diseases.
