Dr. Ashley Beasley Green is currently a Bioanalytical Chemist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the Bioanalytical Science Group within the Biomolecular Measurement Division. Dr. Greenâ€™s research primarily focuses on the standardization of protein metrology and the development of protein-based NIST Reference Materials and Standard Reference Materials to support basic research and clinical applications. Dr. Green graduated from Spelman College in 2004 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and received numerous academic and scientific awards and honors. She continued her studies in biomedical research at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Department of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences in 2009 under the mentorship of the world-renown mass spectrometrist, Robert J. Cotter, PhD. Dr. Greenâ€™s research interests include biochemistry, proteomics and biological applications of mass spectrometry.
