Maria Willrich has a longstanding interest in laboratory medicine. She got her Masterâ€™s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil) with strong interest in personalized medicine, simultaneously integrating genomics and proteomics. She is currently in her second and final year of the Clinical Chemistry Fellowship Program at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She has several ongoing projects related to test utilization, method development â€“ including infliximab quantitation by LC-MS/MS, establishment of reference ranges for tests, evaluation of new biomarkers in the context of pernicious anemia, renal fibrosis, cardiovascular risk assessment and statin-induced myopathy. She has authored 14 peer-reviewed articles, and was granted 9 different awards for abstract presentations in national conferences in the last 6 years.
