Joanne Adaway

I graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technoloy in 2000 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Biochemistry. I completed a PhD at the University of Manchester entitled 'Proteomic Analysis of Stem Cell Commitment', during which time I was first exposed to mass spectrometry. In 2003 I started work at Wythenshawe Hospital as a Trainee Clinical Biochemist, and after completion of training I worked as a Clinical Scientist at the Christie Hospital. I returned to Wythenshawe Hospital in 2009, first as a Senior, then as a Principal Clinical Scientist. I spend a lot of time developing mass spectrometric methods for quantification of small molecules, and have published 16 articles so far on the subject.
