Lewis Couchman
King's College Hospital

Lewis Couchman is a clinical scientist at King’s College Hospital, London. He began his training studying chemistry at Loughborough University, including a one-year placement at The Medical Toxicology Unit, London. Following this he undertook a four-year clinical scientist training programme, specializing in analytical toxicology, and completed a Master’s degree at Queen Mary’s University of London. Since registration as a clinical scientist, Lewis has used his experience in HPLC and LC-MS/MS to develop a number of applications in both clinical and forensic toxicology and therapeutic drug monitoring, as well as clinical chemistry applications such vitamins, biogenic amines and steroid hormones. He is currently studying for a PhD at the University of Leicester, researching into the analysis of vitamin D status using LC-MS/MS and MSIA. He has published a number of peer-reviewed original ar
