Gonçalo Correia
Imperial College London

After an initial BSc in Health Sciences at the University of Lisbon, I did a master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the same institution. I am currently doing a PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on the large scale application of metabolic profiling in cardiovascular disease epidemiology studies, and data analysis of metabolome-wide association studies (MWAS) in general. I am interested in the application of mathematics, statistics and computing to the study of the fascinating and complex questions and problems faced by biomedical research, ranging from their more direct application in the analysis of complex experimental high-throughput data to biological systems modelling and more “theoretical” endeavours.
