University of Geneva

Didia Coelho Graça is PhD student at the Faculty of Medicine of Geneva. She obtained a Master degree in pharmaceutical sciences. After a short experience in a clinical laboratory, she started a PhD at the doctoral school of pharmaceutical sciences to improve her skills in analytical chemistry. She was particularly interested in the development of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry methods for proteins analysis. Her main project was to develop MS-based methods for the diagnosis of hemoglobin disorders in collaboration with the hematology laboratory of Geneva University Hospitals. She accomplished a translational work, starting with fundamentals investigation in top-down mass spectrometry and finishing with the development of analytical methods compatible with the clinical laboratory practice. She is now performing the validation of the developed assays on clinical samples.
