Irene van den Broek

Irene van den Broek has a professional doctor degree in pharmacy and is a registered toxicologist. She did a PhD in analytical drug toxicology on the topic “Quantitative bioanalysis of bioactive peptides by liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry”. After two years of professional road cycling, Irene van den Broek works since January 2013 as a post-doctoral researcher at the department of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine of the Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands, and focuses on the development of quantitative proteomics methods for application in clinical chemistry. Her main research interests have been the understanding and minimization of the sources of errors in the analytical workflow to streamline MS-based protein quantification with the requirements for clinical application.
