Sarah Himes
Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute

Dr. Sarah Himes is a Toxicology Research and Development Scientist at Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute in Chantilly, Virginia. She completed her Ph.D. in Toxicology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, under the direction of Dr. Marilyn Huestis at the National Institute on Drug Abuse. She previously worked as an Assistant Toxicologist at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, Maryland, and as a Visiting Scientist at the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory in Quantico, Virginia. Dr. Himes recently first-authored three analytical LC-MS/MS method papers describing challenging sample preparation and quantification in complex alternative matrices including meconium and breath. Her work focuses on clinical LC-MS/MS applications for improving identification and quantification of in utero drug exposure and recent adult drug use.
