David Tonoli has studied chemistry at the ESCPE Lyon in France. During this diploma, he spent some time abroad for industrial placement and to complete his master thesis including one year working for DSM in the Netherlands (Maastricht) to study polymers by GC-MS and two semesters in the Universities of Stockholm (KTH, Royal Institute of Technology) and Zurich (ETH, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) in which he was involved with a nanoscale mass spectrometry project.He then joined the University of Geneva for a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences focused on novel mass spectrometry approaches applied to biological fluid analysis. Finally, he joined the Swiss Center of Applied Human Toxicology (SCAHT) in Geneva for a post-doctoral stay in which he is currently involved with the development of a high-resolution MS platform applied to untargeted steroid analysis.
