The increasing awareness of the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its potential impact on health has resulted in large scale screening. However, it is currently unknown, whether testing results in therapeutic interventions that increase vitamin D levels. 25 Hydroxy vitamin D (25OHD) test is the surrogate circulating marker for determining vitamin D deficiency. In this paper, we present frequency data of vitamin D deficiency based on the last 3 years of large scale 25OHD testing in our laboratory since implementation of LC-MS/MS method.
