Biomarker Identifications in Frozen and Umfix Processed Prostate Cancer Tissues Using MALDI Mass Spectrometry Imaging
Mon 10:30 AM - Session: Tissue Imaging by Mass Spectrometry
Richard Drake
Direct profiling of proteins in tissue sections using MALDI mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) has the power to link molecular detail to morphological changes observed by the clinical pathologist. To investigate the potential of MALDI-MSI for the diagnosis of prostate cancer we examined 72 prostate tissue sections for differential expression between tumor and normal tissue.

Cored specimens from 59 patients were harvested from each prostate immediately after removal of the organ and either paraffin embedded, fixed in OCT and frozen at -80
