View Long Abstract
As our understanding of biomarkers and their patterns is better understood communication between the lab and clinician is important to ensure the best patient care. The move towards MS in the clinical lab seems obvious in achieving that goal. There have been parallel advances in radiologic diagnostics. Technologies once deemed too slow, expensive, and unavailable such as CT, MRI, and PET scans now are relied on to diagnose and guide treatment daily. As availability, standards, throughput, expense, and quality of MS based assays improve they will be relied on to advance medicine and patient care in a similar manner.
