By implementing Deconvolution Reporting Software (DRS) combined with Retention Time Locking (RTL) for our general unknown screening of full scan GC/MS data we were able to significantly improve instrument run-time, the data review process, and turn-around-time. Following validation we successfully automated the once manual process for the analysis and reporting of target analytes from full scan GC-MS data. Aside from time and money savings being realized, we discovered that DRS and RTL also improved the overall quality and consistency of reported results.
