On the cusp of CDC’s efforts to standardize hormone testing for accurate analysis of women, children and hypogonadal male specimens, a high-throughput testosterone assay has been developed and validated to industry standards. Correlation to the CDC proved more challenging than initially thought but the resulting assay correlated with <1% bias. This method has been shown to be selective using the proper quantifying transition and transition ratio monitoring throughout development and validation. With an automated platform for front-end extraction and multiplexed LC system >2000 specimens a day can be analyzed by this method.
