View Long Abstract
We evaluated the ability of an ultra-fast SPE-MS system to analyze a panel of benzodiazepines in human urine. Sample analysis rates of 6-8 seconds per sample were performed using a RapidFire® ultra-fast autosampler/in-line SPE system coupled to either a Q-TOF or QqQ MS. The LOD, LLOQ, assay linearity, and precision results from single runs using QqQ were comparable to multiplexing the panel for simultaneous analysis on TOF-MS. These results suggest that exact mass MS with RapidFire is a faster and more efficient alternative to traditional LC-MS systems for benzodiazepine analysis and perhaps other assays commonly performed in the clinical laboratory.
