The use of peptide standards for protein quantitation has many advantages. In addition to QC markers for LC-MS performance analysis, the standards can provide a measure of variability analysis reducing the need for multiple technical replicates to establish analytical precision. We present a study to compare the analytical precision of differential quantitation for a series of targeted proteins across 12 samples based on increasing number of technical replicates with and without normalization of a set of peptide QC standards based on high resolution/accurate mass detection from a benchtop orbitrap.
