In sports doping, Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AASs) are used for quick gains, building lean muscle, and increasing strength. The benefits of taking an AAS for many outweigh the risks. In order to deter athletes from using an AAS, regulatory organizations like the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has established a list of banned substances for competition in sports. Sport doping tests as performed in the United States per WADA are expensive, prohibitively so in many cases. As such, we developed hyphenated panel that cover the most common WADA banned substances by High Pressure Liquid Chromatography Quadrupole Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (LC/Q-TOF MS). |
