View Long Abstract
Waters Systematic Toxicology Analysis with Chromalynx provides a means of detecting unknown substances in suspected overdose cases. The method uses a Waters Acquity LC system paired with a Waters TQD detector. Detection relies on in source collision induced dissociation to build fragmentation patterns which can be compared with a library of over 500 compounds. Analysis time is 15 minutes, and the method has been employed to investigate overdose cases in critical situations. The method has also been of value in non critical toxicology cases and for investigating positive immunoassay screens for benzodiazepines and amphetamines in ambiguous or refuted cases.
