View Long Abstract
We analyzed mEP and mBP, metabolites of two phthalates, in 28 urine samples from pregnant women. The samples were collected by UC DAVIS researchers for Marbles study (Markers of Autism Risk in Babies, Learning Early Signs). The samples analyzed were collected in second and third trimesters of pregnancy from 2005-2008. The results show that mEP concentration ranged from 11 to 4000 ng/mL with median value of 40 and average value of 316 ng/mL. mBP had a concentration range of 2 to 100 ng/mL with median value of 23 and average value of 29 ng/L. These values are comparable to values from the NHANES.
