View Long Abstract
The Specific Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI), and the Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRI), are the newest classes of antidepressants while the second generation antipsychotics represent the newest neuroleptics. Laboratories are often called upon to verify adherence to therapy, adequate dosing, or suspected overdoses of these compounds. We developed multiplexed UPLC-LC-MS/MS assays for the nine newer antidepressants and the seven newest antipsychotics and their active metabolites using off the shelf reagents. Use of multiplexed assays has the potential to allow medium sized laboratories to perform therapeutic drug monitoring on many medications previously performed only in large reference laboratories
