The Metabolomics Innovation Centre (TMIC) is Canada’s national metabolomics research, training, and services platform. Metabolomics is the study of the complete set of small molecule metabolites found within a biological sample and provides a comprehensive snapshot of the metabolic processes occurring at any given moment.
TMIC’s mission is to catalyze innovation and translate metabolomics from the laboratory to real-world use by creating novel technologies, providing cutting-edge services, sharing data resources, and equipping the next generation of scientists and users.
With 9 nodes in 6 universities across the country, TMIC’s network of investigators, collaborators, and clients have access to over $40 million in research and bioinformatics infrastructure. TMIC is a single-source destination for metabolomics expertise, services, and technologies for characterizing thousands of metabolites and lipids in the most complex biological samples. TMIC's Research Hotel allows trainees to develop skill sets.
