SUMMARY:
Conducts high complexity biochemical genetics tests using LC-MS and GC-MS technology in the treatment and diagnosis of genetic diseases

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs testing and troubleshoots assay performance related to liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), tandem mass spectrometry technology
• Performs application development related to LC-MS, GC-MS and oversee new product launces
• Delivers on-site staff training and support
• Operates and maintains complex laboratory equipment
• Performs QC and takes appropriate actions if systems deviate from the laboratory’s established specification
• Writes and maintains protocols
• Prepares presentations and publications
• Analyzes and evaluates clinical data under supervision of the laboratory director
• Performs other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:
o Degree: MS or PhD in Biochemistry
o Relevant experience: 2-5 years
o Certification (preferred): C/SC(ASCP)
