Hui Qiao
IONICS Mass Spectrometry

Dr. Hui Qiao, obtained a Ph.D. from Time-of-Flight mass spectrometry Lab, Physics Department, University of Manitoba in 2009 where he investigated the laser desorption characteristics in MALDI and MALDI tissue imaging using a time of flight mass spectrometry system. A two year post doc position in the laboratory of Dr. Don Douglas at the university of British Columbia followed. Dr. Qiao investigated the space charge effect in a linear quadrupole ion trap system and the effect of rod set changes. In 2011, Dr. Qiao joined Ionics Mass Spectrometry. Current work and interests include: Designing and investigating micro/nano flow ESI ion sources to improve ionization efficiency, signal stability, and reduce signal to noise ratio; evaluating and improving the performance of triple quadrupole mass spectrometry instrumentation; and LC-MSMS quantitation for small molecules such as peptides and drugs.
