Bio: After doing B.sc. and M.sc.Biotech, I did my Ph.D. on the topic "Cloning, over-expression, purification and characterization of Epoxide hydrolase identified by microbial genome database mining from department of biochem, Punjab university. Where I characterized epoxide hydrolases enzyme by using spectrometer and HPLC. In post doc from IISER Mohali, India, I am working on "Characterization of Salmonella typhimurium effector proteins produced recombinantly and their Immunological response" since 2 and half years. I am trying to know function and immune respose of effector protein from Salmonella wild type and making them mutant. Also want to explore more secreted effector protein. So I want a learning platform to explore more effectors protein of pathogen with the help of Mass spectrometry. Also I am interested more inhand training to utilize Mass spectrometry in area of pathogen

Short Abstract

Salmonella Typhimurium is Gram-negative pathogen which infects up to 1.3 billion people worldwide. Salmonella have ability to invade, survive and replicate within host. Effector proteins encoded by Salmonella pathogenicity island 1 and 2 (SPI-1 and SPI-2) have role in invasion and survival within host. Only 30-40 effector proteins, secreted by T3SS have been identified till date and out of which few has fully characterized. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore more and more effector proteins. Mass spectrometry can help both in discoveries of novel effectors proteins from the secreted vesicles of the Salmonella Typhimurium and in their characterization.
