Short Abstract

Quantification of protein biomarkers for diagnostic applications are becoming increasingly common given the analytical advantages it provides relative to conventional immunometric techniques. To that end, and overview will be given on the basics of designing a targeted protein assay, considerations in optimizing the assay work-flow, and the common pitfalls faced when standardizing a mass spectrometry-based protein assay.
