Abstract
This practical training session will equip attendees with actionable strategies for optimizing mass spectrometry settings and addressing common troubleshooting challenges. Through real-world examples, participants will compare the benefits of optimization by infusion versus injection and learn to apply each method effectively. Case studies will guide participants in selecting the best source and fragmentation parameters for unique assays, with examples from both initial test development and established clinical laboratory tests. The session will also focus on targeted troubleshooting techniques, highlighting how to interpret data trends and resolve performance issues. Attendees will leave with practical skills they can use to enhance assay development and troubleshooting and ensure robust mass spectrometry performance.
After attending this training, participants will be able to:
1. Implement best practices for optimizing mass spectrometry settings to improve performance and data quality
2. Differentiate between optimization by infusion and optimization by injection and apply these approaches effectively in their workflows
3. Utilize troubleshooting techniques demonstrated in the session to identify and resolve common mass spectrometry issues in their laboratories.
