Becoming a Reviewer

We welcome qualified scholars and practitioners to join our reviewer community. If you are interested in serving as a peer reviewer for the journal, please follow the steps below to register your interest.

Who can serve as a reviewer?

Reviewers are typically researchers, scholars, or professionals with expertise in areas relevant to the journal’s scope. We especially welcome:

  • Established and early‑career researchers with relevant publications.
  • Practitioners with substantial experience in the field.
  • Interdisciplinary scholars whose work overlaps with the journal’s themes.

How to register as a reviewer

  1. Visit the journal website:
    Go to https://jmsacl.journals.sup.org/ .
  2. Create an account:
Click on the Register or Create Account link (usually located in the top navigation or login area) and complete the registration form with your contact details.
  3. Indicate your interest in reviewing:
During registration, or after logging in to your profile, select the option indicating that you are willing to serve as a reviewer for the journal.
  4. Provide your areas of expertise:
In your profile, list your research interests, keywords, and subject areas. This helps editors match you with manuscripts that align with your expertise.
  5. Keep your profile up to date:
Update your affiliations, contact information, and research areas regularly so we can invite you to review manuscripts that are a good fit.

What to expect after registering

Once your account is created and your reviewer preferences are set, editors may contact you with review invitations when manuscripts match your expertise. Each invitation will include the manuscript title and abstract, an expected timeline, and details about any in-force reviewer recognition program(s).

If you have questions about becoming a reviewer or about your eligibility, please contact chris.herold@msacl.org.
