As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible to maintain, install and repair Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites, including strategic accounts. This position works independently to resolve all assigned customer and technical issues. Mentors and develops less experienced staff members. This remote position will be based in Boston, MA and service the Greater Boston area along with Maine, Vermont and Western, MA.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Complete and successfully pass assigned training tasks on assigned products and responsibilities
Provide a working knowledge of Sciex and OEM products
Experienced in performing high quality installation, repair and maintenance on mass spec instruments
Assigned and responsible for customer satisfaction at strategic accounts
Perform IQ/OQ and other qualification products. Includes training.
Mentor and train lesser experienced staff members
Experienced in HPLC installation and maintenance
Perform preventive maintenance on select products
Demonstrate and completes all administration duties
Maintains own tool and parts inventory to ensure adequate supply
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience
Prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instruments.
It would be a plus if you also possess:
Working knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Works independently and as part of team
Promotes commercialization of SCIEX products
Working knowledge of electrical and electro- mechanical technology
Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs
Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist.
Must be able to climb a minimum 30 foot ladder
Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region
Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
Exposure to varied travel conditions either driving or flying
Travel required/Valid Driver's License.
Travel by vehicle or airplane within assigned geography, up to 50% overnight travel may be required.
Meeting Vendor Credentialing requirements are an essential element of this position.
