Conference Policies

Please be aware that adjustments may be made to these policies during or prior to the event in order to ensure the safety and health of all attendee groups, so we ask that everyone please follow the signage and directions from staff.

You're coming to MSACL to have fun, network and learn. We're here to make that possible. For all of this to happen, MSACL has a few policies that are necessary for the safety and comfort of everyone. Please comply so that you and everyone else can enjoy the conference. These conference policies are subject to change.

MSACL reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the badge, and, thereby, permission to attend the event, for any attendee not in compliance with these policies.

Respect the Staff

The MSACL staff is here to ensure the event is operating as smoothly as possible. Please treat them with respect.

Badge Privacy

To facilitate networking between attendees and exhibitors, your profile info will be embedded in a QR code that will be printed on your attendee badge.

The code can be scanned, and your information collected, using free Apps that are available for mobile devices (e.g., BadgerScan) and that may be used at the Event.

If you allow anyone to scan your badge QR code, they can get your information. If you do not want someone to have your information, do not allow your QR code to be scanned and do not give your badge to anyone else.

FULL OPT-OUT: draw a line through the code on your badge (when received) with a felt pen to make it unreadable.

Code of Conduct

Attendees must respect common-sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. MSACL reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the badge of any attendee not in compliance with this policy. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of any attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest member of security or staff member so that matter can be handled in an expedious manner.

No Handouts

No handing out of flyers, stickers, cards or any other type of promotional item (not including business cards) is allowed in any area inside or outside the Monterey Convention Center, Portola Hotel or Marriott Hotel, except from within an Exhibit Booth or from a mini-Table (purchased exhibition space), or when pre-approved for placement by MSACL staff.

No Retail Sales Unless Exhibit Space Purchased

No retails sales are allowed anywhere with the MSACL event space, unless you purchased and were allocated an exhibit or mini-table space.

No Livestream, Video, Audio or Photo recording of any Program or Event

The usage of livestreaming, photo or video apps and software on any electronic device is not allowed in any official MSACL program or event room.

No Smoking, including E-cigarettes and Vaping Products and Devices

Smoking is NOT allowed within any MSACL event facility or adjoining patio. You are welcome to step outside to smoke in DESIGNATED smoking areas, but please be considerate of others when you do. This policy is in place not only for the comfort and health of attendees, but also to comply with city ordinances prohibiting smoking at public events near any doorway, entrance, exit, or operable window.
